Serenoa repens  is the Latin name for the palm commonly known as a Saw Palmetto.

The seed are viable for many months after collection and typically germinate the following summer here.

This is a low growing palm not normally getting more than about 8' tall before bending over. Makes a good border plant in groups for large areas.
